-Get yourself over to Queen West and have some poutine at Smoke's or Poutini's (neither touches what is available in Montreal, but then, you ain't gonna be in Montreal).

-Take the streetcar back and meander down to C'est What, a Quebecois-style brew pub on Front Street. Enjoy some beer there, of the the sort that Mill Street wishes they could produce.

-Feeling Carribean? Have a roti at Tasty's on Elm.

-Chinese/Vietnamese/Korean food? Chinatown, baby. Cheap beer there, too, plus lots of derelict types hanging out near Kensington Market.

Enjoy TO.
Same here.

The giant shaft in the sky and the bj's arena are the two most uninteresting things in the city, that and Mississauga.

It's a great place to eat well and cheap I never understood the concept of eating out while on vacation until I had goat roti, chinese food, indian food, pizza, etc all in the same day.

I donno toronto is a dumpy place on average, sprinkled with some of the most interesting things in the whole world.

A really strange contrast, that it seems that most folk fail to grasp.

This may seem funny, but there is the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto.

Lots of great ideas mentioned so far. Toronto is my favorite place to visit and I have been there 60 trips. I also have done the tourist stuff numerous times abut I do lots of the stuff the locals do.

The last time I was there, I had the best Chinese meal ever in Chinatown but I don't remember the name of the place.

The best chicken I ever ate was at The Q (formerly St. Hubert's) on Queensway in Etobicocke near the Sherway Gardens Mall.

If you just want to relax and have a great view of the skyline, go to Humber Bay Park.

Second City comedy club is always a fun time.

I saw that there is a motorcycle show this weekend. You can always try to catch a Toronto Raptors game if they are in town.

P.S. I have been to the Bata Shoe Museum and it was quirky but we had fun.

Hit up Comedy Bar at Bloor and Ossington. Easily accessible by the subway, they've got good beer on tap, good food, and two rooms in which you're bound to find SOMETHING you're gonna laugh at.

http://www.hotbox420lounge.com/ would be on my list if I were coming from the USA.

Even if you don't puff, you can get a GREAT super bowl of cereal there...or at least you could the last time I was there. fruit, nuts, chocolate...Struck me as very tourist-friendly.

Very good Italian food place my wife and I like is Sotto Sotto. Great food but small and noisy. Prices are quite reasonable!

Best burgers ever are at Great Burger kitchen. There are 2 locations. We try to go there as often as we can. It's sinfully good!

Try to hit Demetre's. It's a restaurant just for desserts! Insanely good no matter what you take and a crazy huge selection. The whole chain's been in business for 25 years.

There's a great little fish and chips shop just next to Capsule Music, IIRC. Takeaway and eat in the park across the street.

A place a miss in Toronto is La-Maison Croissant. They used to make the best Croissants on the planet.

So far tonight I went to Smoke's Poutinerie and Tim Horton's after a delayed flight. I'd call it a good evening. If I keep this up, I'll need a maple leaf tattoo.

Tim Horton's - Oh, YEAH! Great doughnuts and pastries. One thing about Toronto is that I have never seen so many doughnut shops anywhere else.

I wish there was a Tim Horton's near me. People around here are hooked on Dunkin Donuts, and DD has shops everywhere. I've tried the DD drip coffee over and over, it just isn't that good. The espresso drinks they make are bad.

That was one of the things I loved about my trips to Detroit, the Tim Horton's. A few of them were open 24 hours, which was double cool.

Most in Canada are open 24 hours. We have two of them in our town of 6,000 people. The coffee isn't that good, but it is worlds better then DD.

Hate to say it, being on my feet all day flared up a knee injury so I actually headed back to the hotel to ice it. Ended up passing out early.

It was a good trip, but next time I get up there, I have to take a day just for sightseeing.
