Not long ago I decided that I should be always consciously and perhaps actively striving to become a better person. This could include, but is not specifically, morally better.
For example: I slowed down with drinking and started exercising more for better health. I've started getting over any social anxieties I have because it's fun to talk to new people. I've started getting over any social anxieties I have because it's fun to talk to new females (yeah, I admit it). I've been toying with getting enough sleep for sake of that healthy, wealthy, and wise thing.
Maybe it's that whole "Live life to the fullest" and/or "Seize the day" gig. I figure if I start now, by the end of my life I'll be so much better that I'll be perfect and able to fly. |

I have a job in the medical field where I have the oppritunity to interact with people at a very stressful point in their lives. I try to realize that it's difficult and respect that. It's hard after seeing hundreds of drunks to not pigeonhole them. Just because you're drunk doesn't mean you don't have a legitimate medical problem. As much as I want to tell myself I don't I do have stereotypes. Realizing this was hard. As far as being impatient.... my girlfriend helps me with that. Not by testing my patience but telling me to settle down, that's all it takes sometimes.
I also try to study a couple times a week to keep up on my job. Physiology, pharmocology, EKG's, the latest and greatest therapies...whatever. I also teach which is essential to solidifying what you do know. All to make me better at what I do which can ultimately effect someones life.
I try to priortize. Realize that family and friends are permanent and my foundation. They come before my job and everything else. If I'm unemployed and homeless I'll still have them. Playing bass is also very important to me. Its very relaxing and I love the interaction with other people when making music. I feel that's why I like Talkbass so much. |

I made a new years resolution to acknowledge birthdays of close friends and family members. So far, so good.
I'm trying to exercise more although I have numerous injuries that prevent a lot of it.
I'm trying to be friendlier to people where in the past I've been somewhat unapproachable.
I'm taking vitamins!
I'm trying to sleep more though I have severe insomnia so I still can't sleep without the aid of drugs (prescription and sometimes OTC stuff).

| | | | Yes, every several years one needs to re-evaluate your life and yourself in general.
Having a wife & kids sure makes your priorities change, at least for me. |

-Diet & exercise (lost 20 lbs already).
-Daily vitamin.
-Drink fiber 2 times a day.
-Brush my teeth every day.
-Stay away from the negative people in my life (even though im living with one ), and try to treat the positive people in my life better. |
