However, I know not all basses are set up the EXACT same way...I have 3 basses and each of them requires different tools. But its great to find out what you need and HAVE it so you can work on your OWN gear. As a fulltime musician, I can't be without my work tools. I'd be losing Money!!
Wouldn't hurt to learn keybass either. I play that every so often, and have had to do complete gigs on that when I had a bass crisis. Just my humble opinion.

I'm actually a pretty good guitar player but just on principle I stay away from them.

Every vacation without my bass includes a trip to a music store if I can find one, at which point I will sit down and play for as long as I can get away with before being asked to buy something or leave.
I was touched to find that the last time I went up to Massachusetts to visit my parents, my dad had picked me up a cheap acoustic guitar so I can play around when I'm up there and not have to carry my bass on the bus. My dad is awesome and this is why!

Obviously, the double venetian cutaways, plus a Stauffer Pyramid bridge, low profile neck, Waverly vintage oval tuning keys, long diamond volute, Adirondack spruce top and 1/4" scalloped braces, Brasilian rosewood headplate, three small dot inlays only at the 5th, 7th and 9th frets, and a Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend dual source pickup system. Since you also play guitar I hope you appreciate the details.

I popped into World of Strings (Long Beach CA) the other night after closing time with an AVRI P that had a persistent buzz. A bit beyond my skill level at the moment, or so I thought. In 10 minutes I was out the door with a perfect setup for very little coin! And Greg showed me how to fix a similar problem in the future. Awesome dudes.
And buy more basses!

| | | | I never did understand how someone can drop a bass off and expect it to feel/sound how they want it? And it's so easy to do yourself, you gotta learn how to do it!

Aside from that, break out some music theory books and learn some more |

Normally, you would find two of these screws on each saddle, but ,,,aw hell,,, i really dont know why they designed it like that.
Hopefully your tech can make some sense of the thing. |
