What do you work for?

Seems that recently there has been a lot of saving threads. To change things a bit, what do you work for? What keeps you motivated to go to work every morning?

Bass gear? family time? early retirement?

Me, I do it to spend time at home with my lovely wife and dogs.Eenjoying some bass playing, mountain biking, good home cooking, the occasional dinner out, and spending time with our friends.

One reason only: If I didn't go to my factory job every day I would soon be living under a bridge in a cardboard box.

Collage student here. I work at school so I can get a job to provide for a family that I will have in the future.

I'm a student. So that's one reason.

But mainly, I work so I don't have to worry about money. I don't spend much, and as long as my revenue covers what I spend, I'll happily take the topic out of my head.

brought to the simplest reason why I go to work: Money (present and future)

the reason I remain employed in my current job/career: a sense of accomplishment, it challenges my mind and I find it interesting.

Don't want to be political, but I work for a major Defense contractor and my motivation is to create gear that delivers shock and awe and brings our warfighters, out there in harm's way on our behalf (whether you like it or not) home safe and sound and in close to one piece. There are 70 Arleigh Burke Destroyers with my name on their radar systems. Zumwalt Class is next. Nothing their equal in all the world. Count on it.

I play bass 'cause I love it, and I've learned that doing gigs at company events lights people up like a Christmas tree. Whole new angle for me and for my new GK rig on the way from Kansas city.
