What does "work" look like to you?

Sign in to disble this ad
In one of the few quiet moments at work last night I off-handedly snapped a shot of something I see every night: A San Antonio, Texas bound Airbus A300 being loaded. In the backround there are a couple more A300s and a Boeing 767 being loaded as well.

Another pic saved on my cell phone from last winter. It's another A300, this one bound for Mexico City being de-iced before flight.

We have roughly 130 planes fly in and be turned back out every night between about 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM.To the casual observer it looks like someone kicked in the side of an ant hill with a bunch of random activity going on but there is, amazingly enough, order in the chaos. We push between 800,000 and 1.5 million packages through every night. That's just our shift, then there are two others.

What's work look like for you?

That's pretty much what my day job looks like, which is why I'm on TB so much during the daylight hours.

And, funny enough, I just tossed out one of those monitor arms last week. Thing's been hanging around unused for the past five or six years and I got tired of looking at it.

The desk picture does it for me about 1/2 the time. Put some maps up and a few coworker-illustrated cartoons with foul language and we're there.

Can anyone give me tips on making the photo's show up? I thought I followed the instructions in the FAQ's. All I see are the links.

Copy paste all that to notepad, take the URL's and copy them then go into a reply/ed tab and and press the tiny box with a mountain on it and paste.

Before the photo address [img]
