What is a fair sale price for my 1970 Offroad Bronco

Sign in to disble this ad
I have to sell my fathers 1970 Bronco.

I am not sure what a fair sales price is.

He invested $23,000 in it, before he passed away. So I can't list its price range with the other standard Offroad Broncos.

Oh, and does anybody know a site I can list it on? (Other than Ebay, and Craigslist.)

Needs more information... especially for an older vehicle.

People that are going to inquire about this type of vehicle needs to know a full list of specs- what is original, what is after market, etc. Also pictures, mileage, and any other documented information would be helpful...

You could try classifieds in your local newspaper?

No, but you cannot expect to recoup it all either. You wanna sell it, you have to strike a balance on that. On offer it on the low side of that figure if you want it to move. And then hope you find someone who wants those "upgrades". Fixes to structural frame / steering components / body and the like for basic secure operation do not count and are not expected to be recoupable past regular market.

And, very sorry for your loss.

Check on classic auto trader and the like, and guage selling points and compare features on there as a starting point. Hit the forums too. If there's a make and model of something, there's probably an enthusiast website.

Half cab or standard?

In perfect condition I could see it going for $20,000. And I mean perfect.

It depends on what he spent the money on. If he modified the heck out of it, the vehicle could be worth less than $5000...because it may be modified to the point where no one wants it.

OTOH, if he did everything short of a frame-off restoration and returned every screw and panel to original stock, it might be worth CLOSE to what he has in it...but I doubt very much that it's worth $23K. A 1970 Bronco isn't a collector car in general, except to a small group of 4WD enthusiasts.

I think Basstotheface has it about right.

Do research online at collector car sites and enthusiast forums - you're not going to get great info here.

If you get tired of messing with it, put it on Ebay with 40 or 50 well-done photos and a complete write-up of its history and all the work done, and start the bidding about $5000. Then you get what you get, and the market will decide what it's worth.
