I'd say the problem is with expecting AOL to be reliable in the first place

It happens once in a while. All it takes is one AOL'er to mark
your email as spam. Then, you can't email to any AOL'ers.

I think it must be too easy for AOL'er to mark email as spam or
they don't realize the ramifications of doing so. I got blocked
on account of a simple email that I sent out to several people.
There was only one AOL recipient in the group so I knew whom
to blame. Given how infrequently I email them and our
generally very good relationship, I can't believe they were tired
of my emails or angry with that email. Something is strange there.

It only lasts a short while. It will start working again.

I thought it was because AOL sucked balls.

If the letters bounced back, it's probably because modern host sites don't read stone tablet...time to install Netscape Explorer.

I heard a discussion the other day opining that AOL was so outdated that it was becoming retro and therefore recovering a smidgen of cool.

It has a ways to go to pass up the coolness of Prodigy or CompuServe.

AOL is still pretty rich. They make their revenue charging people who don't know you don't have to subscribe to a browser to access the Internet.
