Firstly, I know I need to see a doctor and I will be making an appointment ASAP. But I want to see if anyone can offer advice in the mean time.
For about 6 months I have been having the feeling of something stuck in my throat. 24/7, never goes. And constant painful mouth ulcers on my tongue (so bad it hurts to speak), itchy throat, often sore.
I had a barium swallow test which revealed nothing, this was about 4 months ago.
And now for the last month or two, I keep choking on nothing. Once or twice a day, just out of nowhere coughing so much I can hardly breathe, can't speak. It only lasts maybe 2 or 3 minutes but I wheeze for about an hour afterwards like I've inhaled something. And I taste blood every time.
Any suggestions? Please don't tell me to see a doctor, as I said above, I'm going to

Did you injure your throat prior to this? Swallow something that scratched or may something have lodged in there (tiny fish bone etc)? I'm often pretty good with health-related stuff but this one has me stumped. Let us know how you make out at the Doc's.

My advise? Don't take any advise from the interwebs and go see whatever you were going to see in the last sentence of your first post. It may or may not be a doctor, i don't know... Definitely don't take any advise from us.
None of us have any idea whats wrong. We didn't even see it.

I had the barium swallow to see if there was any obstruction or constriction but it came back clear. I've had blood tests to check for infection, nothing. No raised white cell count so I'm assuming it's not cancerous (but again that was months ago). The mouth ulcers are pretty worrying, they tend to come with cancers of the mouth and throat. But maybe I'm just run down. Seems odd that they're constant and in the same place.
If I shine a torch in my gob and move my throat muscles around, I occasionally see a creamy yellowy thing popping up
But I would think I'm too young to be getting anything serious like that, surely?

Somethink like this you don't random guy/girl telling you whats wrong especially if they have not even seen you personally. | Thanks. But as I said, I will be going to the docs ASAP.
I'm just looking for advice/opinions/experiences in the mean time.
And yes, of course I chew my food! But the choking doesn't happen when eating or drinking.

to get your problem resolved faster than a general practitioner. |

Seriously, doctors are like plumbers or mechanics - there are good ones who will find the problem and diagnose and treat it, and bad ones who couldn't find it in a medical textbook. If you can't find one who can identify the problem, go to another one. Repeat this process until you get an answer and some relief.
My ex had a growth on her neck, and her ear, nose, and throat specialist was treating her for a garden variety sore throat. She went to her OB-GYN for her yearly check up and he asked if she was receiving treatment for whatever that was growing on her neck. The ear, nose and throat guy was indignant that I called him out for missing it. He told me that I was ignorant of anatomy, the problem on her neck was nowhere near her throat. I asked him if he thought the throat was closer to the neck than the vagina, and then I fired him. |

Yeah, no one here's going to be able to truly help here, just throw out opinions. Good luck at the docs, I hope it's nothing.

It's great in some ways having free healthcare, but it's also a pain in the butt when it comes to stuff like this.
