What kind of art do you like to buy ? I have bought several reproductions of orthodox iconography in addition to the tattoos on my body.

I like a lot of sculptures, especially Inuit sculptures. They're probably my favorite.

I don't know why, but when I was up north, I didn't buy one from one of the locals. I really wish I had. I have no idea if I'll get to go back.

I think I bought a poster of Munch's The Scream once. Usually I paint up my walls myself with what I feel like. After hanging cheapo xmas light and party lights its instant chic.

Between mounted animals and dogs playing cards, you have a basic idea of about 3/4ths of what my father's den looks like.

I have a handful of movie, video game, and music posters.

I have a fascination for east asian art, particularly that of China and Japan. I have a poster of Hokusai's Great Wave Over Mt. Fuji and several books on traditional Chinese and Japanese painting.

I also very much like the surrealist and fauvist movements. The surrealist stuff I like because it's so wierd, yet interesting and fauvism because of the fantastic use of colours.

Fauvism was a fairly short-lived movement, but some great painters were associated with it. Matisse, of course, but one of my favorites is Albert Marquet.

For about 7-8 years I've been buying Outsider Art Outsider Art .info ... Outsider Art Online Exhibition Gallery and work by Eddie Breen. Piggyback Art by Eddie Breen. Eddie's work has increased in value, and I really enjoy looking at it.
I also have a Jorge Zeno, a Diego Rivera sketch, work by other Mexican artists, and a Renoir etching.

I am an artist, so my walls are covered with my own abstracts. I also love to collect other contemporary artists. I recently purchased a large abstract by Anthony Pettera. His work usually sells for thousands of dollars. I found it at a local consignment shop for cheap, and had to have it. Many artists paint to music, and many musicians are also artists.

Jim, Eddie Breen's work reminds me a lot of William Quigley... have you ever seen his? (QUIGLEYART.COM)

As far as art that I like to buy? A lot of B&W photography of urban decay, landscapes, etc. Unfortunately, I haven't been buying much lately due to finances.

I like Quigley's work a lot, but it looks WAY more expensive than Breen's.

I have a couple framed posters from MegaTokyo as well as some prints of the The Mad Bluebird by Wildlife Photographer Michael L. Smith. The wife collects figurines from "Angus & Friends" and Home Grown.

We also have a few pieces from Design Toscano

I collect concert art from the 1960's (Avalon, Fillmore, etc) through modern artists. Limited printings, hand silkscreened stuff for modern stuff. Also Deco and Nouveau advertizing and travel prints. Original if I can afford, good quality reprints until I can find and afford.

I also have a number of paintings, mostly landscapes, but somewhat abstract.

Govinder Nazran's cats.

And thinking of buying a Dylan pic, purely for the investment value. Passed up on 'train tracks' for a grand a few years back. Now worth x10! His stuff will go through the roof when he dies

When I summer in the south of France I prefer to buy the original works of exquisite Renaissance artistes when I'm between attending my boating galas, polo matches, and evening excursions with supermodels.
