What was the most suprising/shocking thing you have heard lately ? Tonight I was talking to a Priest who is a Professor of Theology and he told me his Partner was an Atheist , man did that give me a great laugh.

Sometime around the turn of the millennium the whole world seemed to cross over some threshold of rationality and into a weird type of pseudo-reality with surprising and shocking things happening like kernels of popcorn popping in a microwave.

Since about 2003, I haven't been surprised or shocked by anything and if it turns out that the Earth is a reality TV show for all-powerful space aliens and we are the unwitting cast put here for their entertainment then that wouldn't surprise or shock me either.

I'm very serious.

Heard from a co-worker about a dog that froze to a sidewalk and survived the night out by using some of it's fat.

Haha! It's true:

In Taiwan they were trying to move a beached whale using explosives... just packed 'em in on the beached side to shoot the carcass out to sea... but it rained guts all over the place instead.

I learned that GC no longer requires employees to work overtime - in fact, they don't even ALLOW employees to work more than 40 hours a week. Egads! I used to be required to work 6 days a week, bell to buzzer.

Granted, they used to pay a lot more back then, too. This economic downturn has hit GC pretty hard, methinks.

Heck we did that here in Oregon a couple years ago. The local TV news a week or so ago had a short segment looking back on crazy events they reported in the recent past.

The Universe is Electric!

This is somewhat shocking:

.... although any analysis that proposes "magnetic reconnection" as a cause of anything seems a bit suspect.

What I heard on the radio this morning is so shocking and disturbing it needs it's own thread. It's a burger scented body spray. For real.

Shocking and blue all at the same time.
She was a hottie, love the vintage git-fiddles too

Mark Wilson being a mod.

One of my closest friend's father passed away 2 weeks ago.It was very shocking and reminded all of us things can turn upside down any time.

Also realizing I was already dead and in hell was pretty shocking in the beginning.

That somesone actually thought I was getting married! A work acquaintance asked me earlier, "Aren't you getting married soon?" I nearly hit the floor. I shudder when I even think of marriage. It scares me. And besides, they don't let the gays get married in Texas. Crisis averted.

That wouldn't be surprising - I've been saying this for about 5/6 years now!

The mother of my brothers best friend died of lung cancer.

A 20 something flemish hiphopartist who seemed to have beaten cancer 6 months ago (made an album about it etc) lost the battle anyway.
