Probably around $4000k for my MTD, but the most I overpaid for a work of art was about $15 for Metallica's St Anger. The way I see it, they owe me money!

If we're considering tattoos art (which I do believe they can be), it's about $700 for my 1/4 sleeve. I think that my calf piece may top that, though.

$2400 for a painting from an artist who coincidentally happens to be tattooing a sleeve on me. We're taking a trip down to L.A. this weekend to attend a gallery reception for him and some other artists.

Not counting my tattoos, the most I have spent was $150 for a painting for my wife. Otherwise, any other art I have purchaced has come from www.derekerdman.com , flippin' cheap art.

I think my Roscoe makes the grade as Playable Art, so that would be $2700. As for a painting, $450.

About $2.5k on my sleeve and a few thousand on art nouveau prints (Lautrec, Mucha).
My honeymoon in Paris turned out to be an expensive art trip... but very rewarding.

Most of what I have has been given to me by friends. But there was a guy I knew who used to be quite a fashionable photographer and silkscreen artist in the Warhol vein. He later fell on hard times and became a down and out bum. I once met him as he came into town on his bike with a load of large serigraph portraits he was going to sell for booze money. He offered me a matched pair for about $10. I bought those, had them framed, and they've been hanging side by side on my living room wall since.

7000 kroner for a painting. The only thing I've ever bought worthy of being called art.

My wife and I have paid about $350 for some nice silkscreen art. More than that - probably not. I have a tattoo that cost $60, and that's about the most I'd pay for intentional body defacing.
