1) Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Good stuff. Drank a lot of it while I was in Chico. One day I got a call from a buddy, asking me to meet him at the brewery. He was there with the brewmaster on a day they were closed. We drank a lot of stuff they couldn't sell.
2) Bass Ale. According to a bar tender in NY, I drink it like water.
3) Liberty Ale from the folks at Anchor Brewing. It's hard to find, and I am only 40 miles from the Brewery. It's their version of an IPA.
I am going to have to go with Liberty Ale. It hits the most good buttons. But I wouldn't lose if I took one of the others.

Has something with a cano and water, if you know the expression.. But I guess we're spoiled here, closeby Belgium.. Heck, I was in LA last week, and everybody seems to be drinking Stella Artois there, which is an Belgian beer..
If I was to be stuck at an island for the rest of my life, I'll assume it's going to be a tropical island, including a cooler.. My first pick them would be:
Pauwel Kwak
Followed shortly (when I can suggest alternatives..) by Duvel, Tripel Karmeliet, Delerium Tremens, and West-Vleteren 12 (if you can get one of those..)

and not just because Belgium (the so-called Disneyland of beers) is next door....
don't apologize for it...revel in it....when my son turns 18, i want to take him to Belgium and Holland, not only to try beers, but to go to the the unbelievable art museums in both countries.
i think your Reijksmuseum (spelling, please) is simply breathtaking...i spent three days there in another life, and still could have spent more.

Saturday activity is going to the nearest Belgian city, to a local Beer-hal, where they have pallets of all unusual beers, and just strolling through, picking up a couple of bottles of brands I have never heard of, to test at home..

I would have to flip a coin between Amstel and Stella Artois. I go through phases and those are the ones I like right now. |
