Yes, you read that correctly. Every morning for the last 2 weeks I notice a small gem accumulation near my front door. The perpetrators use the cloak of darkness.

A little background: We live in suburban San Diego. There is no openings above the "landing zone" so it's a direct deposit. I assumed mouse so I bought some traps.....so now they mock me by bombing the traps.

I have cleaned the area thoroughly and applied bleach, no avail. I have cleaned the area and applied ammonia, no avail.

I thought about it, but figured that the neighbors might think that I'm a bit "off", but I may have to drop a little "this is MY house pheromonic liquid. (My wife suggested peeing in a cup first, then application - she's the teacher - smart one).

What is it?!?!?!?!?!?!? A little help here!

Hard to tell from the pic, but I'm guessing it's a rodent of some sort (mouse, rat, etc.). What are you baiting the trap with? Peanut butter has always been successful for me in the past.

Tried a little peanut better, ended up with a well centered nugget right in the middle.

Neighbor recommended jolly rancher, wetting it first, sticks well to trap, sugary nature makes them desirable. Will try that tonight.

Looks to be an elephant.

I would laugh if it's a pee'd off neighbour.

It mocked your peanut butter?? Wow! Bold little bastard(s). The Jolly Rancher idea sounds reasonable.

you'll catch it...definatley a mature rodent of sort...rodents have poor vision and use there whiskers to guide them against the wall...mature rodents will try to avoid the trap in the first couple of days since its foreign to them..use a thin layer of peanut butter so that it stays on the trap longer and gives them xtra time to unload the spring.

hope this helps

Ah, perfect, thank you. I have two traps, one will get PB tonight and the other a jolly rancher. We'll see what works.

If it turns out to be cattle, I'll be having a bbq this saturday at 1pm.

Yep, it's a rodent and your bass playing is definitely attracting it to the front row.
