IM just curiouse of your thoughts, in my house, it will be 65 outside and I'll look at the thermostat and the heat will be set to 78 degrees :/
This can not be the norm, I've always ran warm and its pretty miserable...

During the summer, we turn on the AC if it looks like it won't cool down below 80 at night, otherwise we open the windows and run fans. |

I've always thought a good room temperature to be 68-72 year round... A little higher is okay but tinting the furnace on to 78 when it's 65 out is pushing it, whatever happened to just using a blanket? Lol

I keep my house around 80 in the summer and 75 in the winter. I hate to be cold.

For my house, I prefer around 75 F in the Summer and 65ish in the Winter.
I work in computer rooms, so the temperature is around 68 year round.
Long sleeves and jeans in the Summer is kind or a requirement if you want to feel your toes at the end of the day.

It should never top 72 degrees at any point. Ever.

Yes, we wear sweaters, etc. Sometimes we sneak it up to 68.
House temperatures seemed more extreme when I lived in the South for a few years. Hotter in the winter and colder in the summer. People regularly brought a sweater or jacket if they went to a restaurant during the summer in Texas. |

I had to keep a long sleeved shirt at work to put on in the summer.
According to a company here in Ottawa, 21C (70F) is room temperature. But in the summer, we just turn the heat off and live with the temperature in the house. We do close it up to keep the heat out during the day and we have awnings. We take the awnings down just before the fall (they are down now).
In the winter, 18C (64F) during the day and 15C (59F) at night. And yes, I wear a long sleeved light flannel shirt during the winter. |

It's hard to believe that such a small change in temperature can equal such a larger consumption of resources. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
