I'm trying to sell a bag for my mom, but I don't know what type of material it is made of... It's not leather, it's a little furry, and I've seen this type of material on jackets and overcoats sometimes. The material is heavy. Any idea what it is? http://img135.imageshack.us/my.php?i...scf0475oo3.jpg http://img135.imageshack.us/my.php?i...scf0478vg5.jpg

"Satchel in nylon (Prada's signature material) with nappa trim. Black palladium-plated hardware
Interior: pocket with zipper and pocket with button" |

Have you tried searching the manufactures name on the bag? |

Have you tried searching the manufactures name on the bag? | I couldn't find it on Prada's website, so it's probably a discontinued product.

They make coats out of it, which is what made me think that it could be after you said you've seen it on them. |

If the material at hand is not shiny and slightly brittle-looking, then it is not Naplak. If the material is not soft and supple, then it is not Nappa. If the material is neither of those, then it is almost certainly "nylon, Prada's famous material".
The one other option not listed on their site is ultrasuede, a synthetic suede used often in hats, coats, and handbags. It kind of looks like ultrasuede to me in your pics, but again they do not mention ultrasuede on the Prada site. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
