I was moved, too, by his laying down his life for his friends.

His casket looked like it was made by Yakima. I think I've seen it on the roofs of many cars.

I wasn't born when it came out so I never had the initial shock. It is a great ending to one of the best Star Trek movies.

Also if you look closely when Scotty is playing the bagpipes you can spot his missing finger he lost in WWII.

Edit: The part when you see Spock in the stars and Leonard Nimoy's narration gave the viewer optimism that he still lives on. A nice touch.

my reaction? i cried. i'm a sap. i also cried at the end of
"old yeller" and "the elephant man."

maybe it was a yakima box. half of dr. mccoy's surgical instruments were weird looking salt and pepper shakers : - )

I was dissappointed that he never got to consumate his obvious love for Captain Kirk.

I thought it made a great part of the movie plot and it was very well done. Wrath of Khan was certainly the best one of the S.T. movie series.

Then they waved a magic wand and brought him back to life in the next movie and I was like:

I wondered why they sent his body drifting through space in a big sunglasses case.

I thought "Oh well, there goes another part of my childhood..."

For a few minutes, at least. Then by the end of the film it seemed pretty clear he was somehow going to return in the next one.

I remember watching this at the theater when it was originally released and the predominant thought in my head being "OK... how are they going to bring him back in the next movie?"

I loved it, but Spock is a great character and I didn't even mind that they brought him back. I am curious what they'll do with Nimoy in the new movie...

Spocks death reminds us off the sacrifice that is often needed to achieve victory.
