Not trying to bring anybody down on Christmas but this is what has been going on in my area....... http://www.wboc.com/global/story.asp?s=11731370
I am disgusted beyond words. This poor child should be home with her family on Christmas Day and instead is at the morgue.
What an absolutely horrible situation. God bless the local cops and state troopers.
I did not know the family but that doesn't matter. Pray for them to have peace as they deal with this. |

| | | | What's wrong with this guy? Who knows, man. Maybe his upbringing, maybe genetics. Those two things tend to determine what someone becomes in life.
That doesn't absolve him obviously. He's got a history of sex offenses. But I always wonder why people do things that 99.9999% of us think is horrible and inhumane. Normal people don't exactly snap and go off raping young kids.

There's a lot of wonderful people around (the BIG majority), but the very, very few who are like whoever did this have an influence on our society way out of proportion to their number.

For the most part the people up there are lovely but there is a lot of poverty and not much to do. |

I'll never understand how we allow scum like this to continue to breath my air.

| | | | Part of what is wrong is our revolving door justice system. It always amazes me to find out that some child molester had been arrested dozens of times only to be let out and molest again. |

I'm not an expert but IMO most sexual deviancy is an unbeatable addiction. Whether it's the celebrity athlete that cheats on his wife, the chronic masturbator, or the child molester,...I've never seen anything to suggest that anyone who opens whatever Pandora's Box they may have; will be a "low risk to re-offend". It's not a question of risk to re-offend,...it's a question of inevitability.
I'm not suggesting any leniency at all on child molesters, rapers and other sexual predators, because I don't think that rehabilitation is possible. Again,...I'm not an expert and will be happily proved wrong. |

I`m lucky, my area has one guy nearby for sexual assault - but the deeper you track into Memphis the more insane it gets. |

There's a lot more offenders in my area than I once thought. Sad.
