What would you do if you couldn't play a bass anymore?

Hey guys,

This fits better in the miscellaneous forum than in off-topic, but I figured it would get much better exposure here.

I don't post threads very often, and I've been doing nothing but lurking for the last 5 years...until recently, when suddenly I've had a lot of free time on my hands (literally).

So...what would you do? How would you feel? Just curious. Sort of.

Try to find some other non musical hobby. All the other instruments just dont do it for me.

I should say that I'm asking this in all seriousness.

Especially considering I'm a dual music and mech engineering major. Emphasis on the first one.

if i couldnt play bass anymore i would absolutely love to pick up cello, sax or drums...the cello and drums are probabaly going to happen eventually anyways, but will msot liekly remain in the back seat with bas sup front.

i would also love to get into DJing, flyfishing, and would do the peace core, but i dont think i coupdl play bass fo rthe 27 months it requires, so that might not happen as a result of this hobby. blah.

If I couldn't play bass I'd assume it was due to an RSI. I'd get into recording or live sound. Something that was musical, but didn't require a great deal of dexterity in my fingers.

Probably play drums, or go into sound engineering.
