Have my kids grow up to be humans that care about other people and the environment.

I could care less about being in a history book or having a fancy title.

You know how you have that one shirt (or maybe it's jeans)? The go to shirt. The one that you put on whenever it's possible. It's comfortable, it fits well and it looks damn good. After years of memories and good times, you go to put it on and there's a stain on it. And no amount of stain stick is getting that bastard out. I think I'm gonna be that stain.

Mike

I want to be remembered as a good-natured, caring, compassionate, friend that would go out of his way to help anyone. ...except Bob. I want him to hate me!

If you have a child, this has to be your hope and wish. That's what I want for my daughter.

To be remembered kindly by those who knew me. After they are gone, there's no more need for anything.

With any luck the kindnesses that I've shown people will be absorbed in their personalities, just like I've absorbed good things from the older people I've known. And hopefully all that will make a better life for some people.

This question reminded me of the final episode in the classic TV drama, "GBH" by Alan Bleasdale - certainly one of the finest television productions ever made.

Quote:
Confronting his nemesis Michael Murray in the final episode, Jim emphasises that, at the end of the day, and after your life and work is over, surely what is most important is that "we would want to be remembered for the good that we have done."
WARNING - MAJOR SPOILERS
http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/drama/bleasdale/gbh.htm

The character of Jim Nelson was played by Michael Palin and Michael Murray was brilliantly played by Robert Lindsay. Well worth a look if you've never seen it. Anybody else remember this?

I'd like to be remembered as the guy who bought www.talkbass.com and then changed its name to www.markbass.com thus starting a long an protracted trademark battle with the Italian company, Markbass. Eventually, I would settle the suit and change the name to www.mike_v_s_ass.com and the website would continue largely as an off-topic website with a small but loyal group of old grumpy DB players inhabiting a section of website. Yeah, that's what I'd like my legacy to be.
