A quick language lesson:
1) Your biscuits are our cookies. Oreos are cookies, for example, as are chocolate chip cookies and the like.

I claim your language is wrong, as biscuit comes froms another language and means double baked. Therefore denotes that biscuit is a certain type of food that should not have different meaning.

Our language could be "wrong," you are correct. However, our language is our language, so unless you see where it differs, you'll never get your original question answered
