Started off with engineering, then music, and finally wound up with a BS in botany. Now I'm working on a masters in biology with a minor in management. After my time in the masters program, however, I want to give science the finger and get an MBA and move into business.

Specialization in chemistry last year and triple concentrations in political science, sociology and philosophy currently. So I never had a "major" technically.

probably the closest US equivalent would be "double major CS/EE"

(Technically, an undergraduate Masters that consisted of both the CS BSc and the EE BEng courses spread out over one more year than a regular Bachelors would have taken).

Music - lasted 2 years

Took all the theory I could and then was itchin' to go play!
Didn't want two more years to study music history. Plus ran outta money.

Broadcasting - from the same university Edward R. Murrow attended.

Then a Master's in Adult Education...which got me a faculty position using my broadcasting and audio/video production skills producing educational programming.

Finally, a Ph.D. in a combination of Adult Education and Educational Technology...which led to my present position in which I manage the learning technologies for a university, design classroom applications of various technologies, evaluate and mange audio video and web conferencing systems, and generally get to mess around with bright shiny toys.

I also get to solve the problems that faculty create when they either ignore or grossly misuse the technologies....not always an easy thing to do.

But the basic skills I learned in analog broadcasting and field production are still highly relevant in today's digital media. Thank you, Washington State University!
