You know, the one song that you only need to hear once, or even just think of, and it sticks in your head playing over and over again until you're ready to scream.
In a fit of mischeviousness, I "dutch ovened" my significant other this morning before we got up, so her revenge was to blast "Dominick The Donkey" for me when I was in the shower and couldn't get to the computer to turn it off. Now...it's still going through my head, darnit...
"Hey! Chingedy ching, hee-haw hee-haw, it's Dominick the Donkey.." ARrRthhHHAAAAAAaAaaaAaaaAA!!!!!!!!!
What's your nemesis song? Please think of it now and post here so I can have company in my misery

Every morning, we would try to get a song stuck in each others head and at lunch time, see which one stuck.
I know there is a term for this, i think "ear worm"?
Ohh, now I have Dominic the Donkey stuck in my head.
Thanks....
Andy

"5 dollar foot longs" has been killing me lately though.
There are about 10 Ween songs that will not leave my head when I hear them, but I don't particularly mind.
...Beck and Ween in the same post...I'm listening to all my weird **** today. |

Foghat may be the worst band, ever. |

| | | | Gerry Rafferty "Baker Street" with that stupid sax line that drives me up the freakin wall. I wanna take that sax, turn it around and shove it up his poop shoot! It's my chewing tinfoil song and it gets stuck in my head every time I hear it. That and any Bob Seagar song. I have a no Seagar rule in effect for the rest of my life.

I had finally gotten that darn song out of my head over the course of the day only to come back to OT to see what's new.
Went back to this thread to read what everyone's posting...
now I freaking have not only a renewed Dominick the donkey but it's now fighting for dominance with Rubber Duckie...
why did I start this thread..why WHY WHY???

I can think of plenty not as good, Slow Ride notwithstanding.
Rockin' Robin was in my head all day yesterday. I don't necessarily dislike the song, but I could not get rid of it.
Crap....it's back! |

When I was 11, I was pitching in a Little League game. For some reason, that song popped into my head and I couldn't get it out. The sheer torment of that insipid chorus endlessly repeating itself caused me to lose control; whereupon I beaned two consecutive batters before my coach yanked me off the mound and sent me to play third base.
I hate that song.

Foghat had a significant catalog, many years of touring success, relative commercial appeal, and some fairly well known top 40 hits. Maybe not an A lister (someone is bound to disagree), but I'd give 'em solid medium-to-above-average.
Obviously this is all very subjective, each of us has their valid opinion, so OK, 'worse' than Foghat IMHO:
(disclaimer: the definition of 'worse' in this context, while basically meaning 'not as good, or better', is my opinion only and offered as a personal perspective and not expressed with any malice or disrespect. )
The Knack
Dexys Midnight Runners
Joan Jett
The Go Go's
Any band that Boy George was in
A Flock of Seagulls
I'll stop here to avoid any additional pain/rage I may have created by listing someones all time favorite.
Just curious, I'm not a Foghat defender, but what is it that makes them the worst? |
