What are your thoughts on fetal alcohol syndrome ? I have several students this summer with this syndrome and it is truly tragic because these impairments could have been avoided with good judgement.

It's not like they're operating heavy machinery in there. |

My son's mother drank during her pregnancy with him.

He's a great kid with a big heart Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is very real and they didn't ask to be born that way...

Long term, fetal alcohol is much, much worse. Not even close. Worse thing is how it's continued to be perpetuated. The main problem is alcohol at that developing age destroys the judgement centers of the brain. So, girls who have fetal alcohol syndrome are typically very sexually active and also tend to binge drink - along with shoplifting, dangerous activities, etc... What happens when you binge drink and are sexually active???? You get pregnant - while you're drunk, and since you don't have the most common sense in the world, you drink while you're pregnant too and guess what - here we go 'round in circles.

damn right
Now, i enjoy booze, and also enjoy justice.
If a parent gets drunk and beats there kid, its abuse.
If a dad throws his pregant wife down the stairs and kills the child, its murder.
But if a mom drinks to the point of injurying, or even killing the child........NOTHING happens..

Haha jk. I'm not a smoker, but it does seem pretty stupid.
I actually know many people with that appearance of FAS, maybe it's more common than I thought. I didn't know this was because people drinking while pregnant. Hm.. I'm sure I've seen many people like this at my school. I don't know how bad the problem messes you up. Very interersting.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson & Ben Franklin (to name a few) all enjoyed and grew their own hemp. The absurdity of this law is mind boggling. Booze does far more damage than pot ever has.
