What are your thoughts on the word "Unnatural" ? In my assessment it is not used properly in the intended context many apply it to.

Unnatural is meaningless in the context of human behaviour. Most of our behaviour is not "natural" and natural doesn't always mean something is good as some people seem to think it does.

I think we should pride ourselves on being able to rise above a lot of our inherent tendencies and use our mental faculties to consciously guide our behaviour as we see fit.

I think that people often use the word "unnatural" to pass judgements on others, thus loading it with their own opinion.

Except for a couple of elements some scientist blasted together in a lab, I don't suppose anything is unnatural. Nothing that can exist in this physical cosmology is "unnatural".

Unless it involves sheep, I'd say it's all good.

When you make such a vague comment/question, example of what you're referring to will be very helpful.

How is the word unnatural used improperly?

how can anything really be unnatural?
We commonly use natural to refer to the state without/prior to human contamination. This seems to suggest that our actions are unnatural, and maybe that we are. I don't like to separate humans from "what is natural", but that leaves everything open.

consider medical ethics. If our actions, and to a degree us, are not natural, then we shouldn't worry about things being unhealthy or wrong because they are unnatural. If we are natural, then those alterations we make are also a natural process of the human mind/science.

Natural can also be used as a conservative term; in that what we consider natural is relative to what we are used to. If you buy that, then everything you didn't grow up with is unnatural.

Aristotle said natural states were those at rest, so change is unnatural, or going away from the natural state.

This is a really interesting question that ive never really made up my mind where i stand on.

I think you might be asking a bit much.
