Allstate provides a similar service but IME it isn't as reliable as AAA. I found out the hard way their low price comes with a lower standard of operating. I was stranded out of town and I had to call them to remind them 4 times (@ hr. intervals).

hhmmmmm...I have Allstate car insurance. Does it come "free" with the policy? I recall Dennis Haysbert saying something like that on TV.

In case of a break-down, I'd like towing, and locksmithing in case i can't get in my car. Gas too I suppose.

I love AAA. Guy from AAA that came to fix my flat told me that he calls AAA when he gets a flat. Why get your hands dirty....that's what you are paying for.

I have it for motorcycle coverage as well. Very handy as that is one expensive 88 mile tow, or would have been.

In one year I got towed 3 times for Saab I hated, two flats and one motorcycle tow. Thank god I had AAA.

What are you paying for AAA coverage on the car?

You can usually get roadside from your cell phone provider. I have Verizon and roadside is $5/mo for 2 cars.

I've used it a lot and they responded a LOT faster than AAA did.

Most of this will depend on the circumstances on that particular day and their particular contractor.

Your one or two experiences over a year or more will probably not be representative.

Do that many people drive such unreliable vehicles that they need this service? I never had a vehicle breakdown in the 34 years I've been driving...
