As a disclaimer: I'm a "conspiracy" fan. I'm interested in reading what you guys think of these videos, even if some of them are complete bull! Let's have some fun shall we?

So, a cousin of mine just showed me this youtube video of some really strange noises that have been heard all over the world...they are reportedly just sound waves caused by electromagnetic waves, having to do with aurora borealis and such as reported here: Strange Noises Heard Around The World Could Have Scientific Explanation | MovieViral

They sure are creepy sounding! What the hell is happening here? I really don't want to jump into conclusions saying we are being visited by godzilla or some aliens...but I'm not just convinced it is the result of some northern lights.

Care to elaborate guys?

You can search "strange noises around the world" in youtube...you'll be flooded with videos...some I think are just hoaxes, but others seem quite real.

Beware the mighty "bloop"!

Bloop - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My personal favorite is "Quacker".

Oh freddled gruntbuggly
thy micturations are to me.
As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee.
Groop I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes.
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't!

This is soooo last week.
I linked to this "pheomenon" in another thread discussing the Behringer iBoom, jokingly saying they should turn it down.
I looked it over then, and IMO, some (most) of it is a hoax.
As far as where any real sounds are coming from, not having heard it personally, I have no idea. It is intriguing, however. I don't think it's from the northern lights, but it could be some result of the recent solar storm activity. It could also be one of those long cycle phenomenon that only occurs every thousand years or so, and has never been properly identified. (Considering 1,000 years ago, this would have been attributed to "The Gods" being angry. It's not a particularly pleasant sound.)

Then again, it could be the "probe" from ST:IV The Voyage Home. They could be checking to see that we still have whales. Kinda wonder what it would sound like under water.

Isn't it the Christians that believe that the "end times" will have something to do with a horn or trumpet?

Did you notice the link you provided goes to a site called "MovieViral"?
This sounds a lot like some of the viral promotion that was being done when the movie Cloverfield was released a few years ago.

Most of the weird noises sound exactly like a peculiar brand of hobbyists who like to acquire really old fog horns and ship horns (e.g., Doran-Cunningham 6-B), mount them in vehicles or on trailers, and then drive out to remote areas (or sometimes just to secluded areas right outside of populated zones) where they then blast the horns and freak out people for miles around.

I was thinking that as well. And there's supposed to be some sort of sequel/prequel or something

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!!!! Dang you made my day!

Funny comments you guys! And that other dude with the crazy hair from the History Channel is Giorgio Tsoukalos. He is an "ancient alien theorist"...he's nuts. He attributes EVERYTHING to aliens. Humans are not That stupid.

Anyways...I know the link is from a movie preview site...sorry about that.

What I'm thinking, is, is this really a "solar" or "cosmic" event? Let's say, you're outside your porch having a brew, and you suddenly hear those trumpet-like sounds....what would you imagine?

Can it have something to do with HAARP? High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Damn wikipedia!

First, Id wonder if anyone else heard the sound. If not, Id start singing loudly, while swishing my beer bottle around in the air, "Theyre coming to take me away, haha, theyre coming to take me away!"
If someone else confirmed they also heard the trumpets, Id be inclined to think we have entered a state of civil war, and that the cavalry were on their way.
Pretty much the same reaction...
