Sign in to disble this ad
Ive recently come across a craigslist add, for a "rock band" needing practice space, ive got a whole empty garage going to waste, the add states they are willing to negotiate a price, so any Idea of what would be a fair price to charge them and how to charge them (like on a weekly basis, or like only on the days they practice), sorry but im no good at business and some of you are probably even going to recommend writing a contract

Check out what the general monthly rental rates are going for in your neighborhood for the type of facility you are providing, and work it from there.

It depends if they're keeping equipment there or not.

I think the place my band rented a few years ago was $140/mo. for a 20'x18' (or roughly around that size, it was pretty big) space that we could keep our equipment at and come and go at any hour. Hope that helps.

Depends if they're keeping gear there. If they are, how secure you're going to make it.
If not, how often they'll use it, or pay by use.

Have you asked the neighbours?

Have you checked your local zoning ordinances?

Kind of depends where you live. In Portland, a storage shed with electric would probably go for something like $200.00 a month (typical on car garage size) in the midwest, its probably cheaper. Also, I'd do a rental agreement, just to protect yourself. They'll probably be leaving gear behind, cables, PAs etc...the lease should show you are not responsible for the security of their belongings etc...also, if there is damages, you need to know where they live.
