What's people's opinions on body piercings?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hot or not?

EDIT: I'm talking about the more common types of piercings here, such as the ear, nose and tongue.

Also, I'm also talking about standard piercings. Ball studs/rings and the like.

Must add I have my ears pierced in two places myself too.

Depends on the body. Theres a few lass round here that should not have some of the body peircings they do. I'm amazed fat hasn't oozed out.

but, in most cases, hot.

Depending on the girl they can be very hot. I love a girl with her [expatiate deleted]s pierced. But if she has her [expatiate deleted] pierced that's just gross. It's like you could cut Jr. if you're not careful.

You do realise they make piercing jewellery so that it doesn't have sharp edges right?

I like piercings, piercings are great. They can get excessive though.

Depends on the place, the ammount, the body and the person wearing it.

There seems to me to be a real lack of people who know how to do it tastefully. It can be attractive, but I find the opposite to be the case more often.

But like what if something goes wrong. Ya know, you're in the heat of the moment and you make a wrong move. Turn in an awkward position. Before you know it BAM you're bleeding and you have to go the emergency room. Not only is that going to be awkward for you and your lady friend but it will be awkward for everybody there. Don't even think about what will happen when all your friend hear about it. You're going to be physically and emotionally scared for the rest of your life.

Judging from all the replies you might want to make you inquiry a little more specific.

I've seen a few piercings that looked well-done, artfully placed and well matched to the body part. I've also seen many more where the either the jewelry was a total turn-off and wouldn't look good anywhere IMHO, or where the body part just has no business being pierced IMHO.

This is a very subjective issue as is the case with tattoos. I really love the idea and uniquely expressive quality of both, but have seen more cased than not where the actual execution was less than aesthetically pleasing to me.

YMMV of course.

Errr....no?

That's never happened to me. Yet, atleast. They aren't sharp, at all. The peircings for "Down there" are very smooth. They are always rounded n junk, No sharp edges.

Let's see.... random general question...check. Uniformed response(s)....check. Misspellings and poor grammar....check and check. Huh. Something's missing. Ummmm...oh, got it.

What this thread is lacking is a universal absolute with no reinforcement. How it has managed to escape this particular OT thread, I'll never know. As such:

All piercings suck.

Awesome. Now it's time for some indignation in response to the absolute.

They're not for me and I don't mind seeing most of them on other people. The only ones that seem to bother me are the piercings sticking out of the face. It's hard to take someone (I don't know) seriously when something is flapping up and down with their lips when they talk. It's kind of distracting and I can't see why anyone would think it's attractive, but that's me.

Personally, I have a hard time taking seriously anybody who's under the impression that body piercings will make him/her more cool and attractive. But I'm in the minority, obviously.
