everybody has an accent. whether you know it or not (infact it's shocking to see how many people are ignorant to this). in any case to various people different accents are either appealing or a huge turn off. for example: i like boston accents on chicks but not english accents (generally), but i know for a lot of people (especially around here) it's the opposite.

discuss/share

[EDIT]btw, this doesn't have to be regarding girls only or anything, i'm just trying to make discussion. also i do know that my poll is incredibly broad, i know there's a difference between a north carolinan accent and a floridian one but they only give you 20 options so chose whatever best fits.

[EDIT2]oh and you can pick more than 1

Being from the south I do love me a girl with a good ol' country accent but lately I've found a girl with an English accent is taking a lead.

I wish I could choose more than one. I like Irish and scottish, as well as persian (or arabic if you must). An english accent is also nice.

I know there are poll limitations, but English accents vary from area to area. Someone from Liverpool definitely doesnt sound like someone from London.

This goes for pretty much every 'accent' out there. I know Im pointing out the obvious here, but felt it had to be said.

I was born and raised in the South, but I hate Southern accents.

I like the sound of Irish, English, Spanish, and Russian/Eastern European accents.

California. We speak proper english here, void of any regional inflections. We are therefore superior to all of you uneducated types mucking up our language

unless you talk to somebody with a valley-girl accent, in which case you'll surmise that Californians speak worse english than your average Cambodian.

oh believe me i know, i'm actually from england. i could have filled the entire poll with variations of english accents, but seeing as the majority of members on this board are americans, and most americans think that london is england in it's entirety, i figured i'd leave it as broad as possible.

if you want to get specific though, please do. if you think that a mancunian accent sounds great but a scouse accent sounds like a diseased weasel rolling down a hill in a garbage can, let us know. i'll understand

I need an *other* option- I really dig the stereotypical JAP(Jewish American Princess, not Japanese)/New Yorker twang. But not like Fran Drescher- she's waaay overdoing it.
Beyond that, I voted 5 or 6 times- I like all kinds of accents.
I remember a dude in my youth from Haiti(we were just friends- really )- a brothah w/a THICK French accent. I'm from a pretty small town so it was very impressive.

Edit: Yeah- where's Spanish? Chinese, Japanese & Korean all together? Come ON, man.
BTW, how many of us are thinking about a female voice w/these various accents?

refined english english is music to my ears.

i SPEAK midwest, so i rather like that. wiscansin to kentucky, cle'land, pittsburghese. bring it on.

and the movie the departed made me love bawstin and their lovely dialect.

had a serious culture clash when i went to college. the group i fell in with consisted of me (cincinnati with various outside influences), a guy from louisville kentucky (im the only one that could understand him for months. he ironically had a rastafarian room mate), 2 guys from missouri that were trying to flee their redneck roots, a full blooded filipino from texas with no accent whatsoever, 2 detroit kids, a dude from CRANSTON rhode island, and the occasional new yorker, indiana indie kid, las vegas, orange county CA and a dude from colorado. it took a long time to iron out those kinks

Time to start over perhaps? Brazil and Jamaica/Grenada/Barbados, etc. would be near the top of my list, for sure.

I find it pretty ridiculous that you've lumped Australian and New Zealand accents together, as well as grouping all the romance languages together, but distinguished between 7 different US accents!

That's crazy.

Welsh! As demonstrated by the lovely Eve Myles. Although, it's even better to hear the actual welsh language... but I couldn't find anything with Eve speaking it.

Russian is good, too.
