What's Your Gig Fuel?

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's mine:

Arnold. Palmer.

"I'm sure he has lots of hobbies, Perry. The man's a drink mogul."

Gig fuel, work fuel, life fuel. I probably go through a gallon or three each week. Clearly the best drink ever, but you may have a different opinion.

What powers you through a long night on stage? (Or waiting to go on stage?)

I'll have to go there next time I'm in pdx. There was a place I used to go to around SE 52nd and woodstock area (I think, but I forget now). I miss me some good mexican food.

Usually water before & during the show. I might eat some fruit about a half an hour before I go on as well.

A Mexican coffee. For the unfamiliar, it's tequila, Kahlua, and of course coffee. Hold the whipped cream & cherry.

The rule is: I have one, then wait 23 1/2 hours. Then I can have one more.

In CA, most bartenders knew what it is, but I've found that back here on the Right Coast, I have to tell almost everyone how to make it. I often fetch the coffee myself, and then ask the bartender to provide the Mexican.

The rest of the night, it's water & soda. I might have one beer.

What kind of tequila do you use? I've used Patron and am certain there must be a cheaper alternative.

BEER!
Or if I'm really poor...

Glass of water from the bar + Flask of whiskey from my van = Bigger Bar Tab!

Tequila and whatever beer they give me for free. Thankfully I've been playing these songs long enough I could do it blind folded falling off a chair. Trust me, I've done it before!

If only my bandmates would stop drinking now...
