it's not that difficult of a solve for moderately intelligent people, and every once in a while an intelligent American is found.

Impressive... I've done so with a few on the board, mostly just L's and R's though.

I have solved some of those with nothing on the board. Phrase puzzles are easy as you can usually figure them out by how many words in it. IMO, phrase puzzles are the easiest.

yeah, their phrase puzzles are remedial, everyday fare.

What would really make that show interesting is if they would stop the people from using R,T,S, and the other standard letters they always bark out, and no buying vowels....and stop letting 4th graders pick the words and phrases.

Oh, and make Vanna dress in bondage.

The ability to "see" these things is like music. Some get the gift, some don't...some get it to an extreme level.

The 1st word is obvious and eliminates one of two choices for the 3rd word. The 2nd word can be inferred from the 1st and 3rd. From there, you eliminate any common phrase that fits the remaining criteria and has more than one "L". Some people don't even need to go through that process and just "see" the answer. She's like the Rain Man of Wheel of Fortune.

Ok then, it seems like many of you cats think it's easy to solve a phrase from one letter. Let's try this phrase:

--- ---- ------ ------, --- ---- ---- ---y --- ----

"The more things change, the more they stay the same."
I think that you screwed it up by only giving me one "Y", but I think that I still got it.

Where is my prize?

Wait a minute, there is only one "y", so I didn't screw up. Do you have a computer program or something? Did your whole office participate in cracking that?

I just kind of stare at the letters and try to let it come to me. Some of us TB dorks carry mensa cards. I did not get that Wheel of Fortune one as quickly as she did as that was just amazing. This took me a few minutes and the comma was the piece that made it easier as it had to be two lines.

I'll look at the new one if I have time.

I'll withhold comments, not because there are none to make, but because I don't know where to begin.

Compare and contrast: We have a guy that can solve phrases from one letter and a guy that can't even count "l"s

Perhaps i can take some solace knowing that no one has solved the second puzzle yet.

Hint: Shakespeare
