| When a wrist decides to be a pain.

There's probably been a mountain of these types of threads but please bare with me.
At the start of the week my left wrist decided to have sharp pains whenever I tried to bend it. There was no gradual build up or any indication it would happen, it just happened. It feels like something moved out of place to how my wrist should be and pushing or trapping a nerve/vein (not sure what else is in there) when I bend my wrist. I get no pain at all when I leave my wrist straight and don't do anything.
I've had these kinds of pains once before but managed to wriggle my left wrist about with my right hand and something just 'clicked' back into place and the pain stopped.
I don't think it's bass playing related (but may be wrong) as last time was before I ever picked up a bass, and have tried earlier in the week to see if it affected my playing. No pain at all cause when I play sitting down my wrist is pretty straight.
Today was the last straw and I did call to get a doctors appointment after it got worse and it hurt to even write or pick things up (I'm a lefty but play as a righty). The pain died down late in the afternoon, maybe something moved in my wrist, but still can't lean on it or move my hand certain ways without some pain.
I am getting to see a doctor on Wednesday but worried they'll put it down to RSI or try and just tell me not to bend it. The worst I've had to go about is ear infections but prone to those since being a kid so a bit wary about what they'll think this is.
Have any of you out there experienced the kind of wrist pains I'm getting? |
