Question Where to buy large googly eyes?

Sign in to disble this ad
I would like to purchase a couple large googly eyes(preferably oval shaped about 7" X 5"). Does anyone know where I could find some? They need to recognizable from about 150' away.

Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, I'm not sure if anyone makes them or not. I might have to make them myself.

A good way of obtaining these googly eyes is a vigorous squeezing of your genitals.

Short answer:
I'm building a monster!

Long answer:
I'm thinking about entering the tuff-truck competition at a local monster truck show and I want to build a monster to put in the back of the blazer to use as the theme for the truck. I'm gonna start with one of those large exercise balls, wrap it in green shag carpet, then attach arms and legs from a stuffed animal. The tailgate and rear glass are gonna be removed, and the rear side windows will be replaced with chicken wire. If it works right, the monster's hands will be attached to the chicken wire, and he will bounce around in the back of the truck as I go around the track.

It ain't halloween yet but they sound fun anyway.

Whenever my wife drags me to a dept store I love to get her to try on those huge
fly eye glasses all the gals wear these days. Makes her look so freaking ridiculous.
needless to say she won't even try em on anymore cause she knows i'm just gonna laugh at her. But now i try em on they're great, i get that creepy alien layne stayley look goin, it's phenomenal.

What you're referring to are "Wiggle Eyes"... you can google that, but you probably wont' find 'em that large.

Why not make them yourself? Go to a kitchen store (Lechter's, Bed, Bath & Beyond), and find two clear bowls with white tops, then find a black disc to glue to the white tops on the inside (or you could draw the black circles with a sharpie) ... the eyes won't be 'googly', but the effect might still be there.

I've never heard them called wiggle eyes before. I'll try that in google, thanks.

get two large white plastic plates. drill holes in the centers. make to proportionately sized pupils. attach the "wiggle point" at the edge (not center) of each pupil, and a weight of some sort at the opposite edge (and let inertia do the work when the truck is in motion to keep the pupils waggin) and attach them to the plates in a manner that the fit "slips" so they freely rotate (I'd use basic bolts with felt washers at the contact points, not tightenned down, just enough to keep them aligned, but not so much that they hang up.

Good idea.
