I have a trial version of Win7 on my Dell and the license is going to expire in about 2 weeks.
What will happen when it expires?
Where can I get a license for the less amount of money... free would be nice.
Looking at the MS website, they have Win 7 Home Premium for $119 (Upgrade) and $199 (Full). I'm assuming all I need is the Upgrade since I have it installed on my computer already. Since all I need is a product key, can I get is cheaper anywhere else? |

Microsoft site for students. You can get Office and looks like Win7 Pro also.
All it takes is a username@domain.edu email addy, IIRC. I used it to license my Office 07 software which came as a trial on my laptop when I bought it a while back. My wife is a student, as are both my kids.

If you have any address ending in .edu, NOW is the time to use it. I posted about this nearly two months ago. A search should find the thread.

I'd just like Bill Gates to give it to me... you know... New Years Karma..... |

I have a guy in Manhattan who is a software tester/developer or something or another, who gets me all my microsoft needs for free.

They allow you to download an installer too, but there simply is an additional (13$ ?) fee for buying the CD along with the key. That's how I got mine.

Oh, but then again, it's Microsloth, so YMMV

If I wanted to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 Pro, would I be able to purchase the upgrade from that site for $30 and be all set?
It seems too cheap to be true. I do not have any trial software or anything on my computer. Does the $30 give you the software or just a product key? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
