Where is my neighbor going at 3am?

So at 3am sharp or pretty darn close, every day i hear my neighbor start his/her car and go somewhere and then come back about 20-30 minutes later. Where do you guys think they are going. Im find it fishy, but im sure there's a completely logical explanation for it.

I bet he's got a time-machine car like in Back to the Future. He goes out at 3:00 so there's nobody else on the street. He's actually gone for days or even weeks by his time reference, but he comes back to your time reference about 25 minutes after you hear him drive off. Perfectly logical.

Buying drugs?

At one of my friends houses (he still lives with his parents, and they're dealers) people stop by at all hours of the night.

Yeah, but leaving at the same time every morning? Maybe he has to make the drop to pay off his blackmailer?

Or he just wants to see if anyone in the neighborhood is being nosy enough to pay attention.

I was thinking drugs could be it. Its probably something super lame like making it a point to pick up a newspaper thats still warm from the press.

is it everyday or just weekdays?
The time is right if he involved in delivering newspapers. A friend of mine would be the guy who goes to pick up bundles from the printer, then drop them off at another house where the deliverers would then pick them up for delivery. That would be every day around 3 ish.

Lightbulb Could be...

Picking up the nightly cash from a bar he manages/owns.

Closing/locking up a late night business.

Paper route.

Gone for smokes.

Gone for fresh bakery items.

Taking baby for a drive so baby will sleep. A co-worker does this regularly.

Dunkin Donuts. I bet he has a hankering for donuts right when they come out, and in some Dunkin joints, 3am is just about right.
Mmmm. Blueberry cake donut.
