Whisky - Uisge Beatha - Scotch

I was following a thread in the Band Management section and it morphed, somewhat, into a discussion on whisky. Thinking that we could use a scotch thread here on TB (while wondering, frankly, if anyone will find it here in Off Topic land), this an attempted starting point.

In the other thread someone mentioned Glenmorangie Nectar D'or. Fine stuff, that. I happen to have a bottle open on the kitchen counter. Slainte!

Someone else referenced their changing perceptions of Lagavulin 16. Personally, I really enjoy the Lagavulin 16. However, there are a couple of Ardbegs that I enjoy even more and, as my current self-imposed guidelines call for at least one peated and one non-peated bottle to be opened at any given time (sometimes lasting months, sometimes hours depending on many variables) the current open stock is:

Nectar D'or
Ardbeg Corryvreckan
Signatory Dallas Dhu 1975 (28 y.o. at bottling)

The Glenmorrngie has a ways to go before hitting empty but the Ardbeg is almost gone so I am contemplating the next peated bottle. Currently thinking Ardbeg Super Nova or McCarthys Clear Creek Single Cask.

Anyone here tried one of those? Any good?
What other whisky are TBers enjoying?

This is the thread you want: Single Malt Scotch! - TalkBass Forums. A lot of reading there, and you'll get more responses.

My "go to" single malts are Highland Park & Glenmorangie, but I have an bottle of Ardbeg waiting for me at my local shop. Had a dram of that over a year ago and it left quite an impression. It's just the 10...I have a limited budget.

Edit: Yeah, I dig Lagavullin 16 too. You hit my favorites. I had a bottle of Balvenie 12? for a while, but didn't love it.

Thanks for the link. I will go check that out.
I have had the Ardbeg Ten and it is quite tasty. The Corryvreckan is my favorite from the current Ardbeg line-up but the Arraigh Nam Beist is even better (though hard to find since they stopped making it).
