I will be going to the San Francisco WhiskyFest this Friday so I figured if anyone had any specific whisky's they wanted a critique on they could post it here so I would make sure to try it and post back my findings.
Here is a tentative list of those that will be there and I would expect there to be quite a few very special rarities that are not listed. http://www.maltadvocate.com/whiskyfe...hisky_list.asp

I also enjoyed Brew Dog's Smokehead recently, as well as Spice Tree by Compass Box.

Have you tried the 18yr Suntory Yamazaki? I tried the 12 and wasn't that impressed, but a friend brought the 18 to a birthday celebration and it's a completely different whisky. Worth a little bit of your time if you haven't tried it yet.

I also must say that I am excited about the new Ardbeg.

You might want to bring a voice recorder, as taking notes will become progressively more difficult as your day carries on.
