Considering any supposed cruelty driven by any other animal is driven purely out of instinct to survive and prolong the species, I would say that the title of the cruelest animal in the kingdom would go to humans.

I don't believe animals are capable of cruelty, only humans.

I don't believe humans are merely animals, either. We're more.

Probably the feline. I don't know many animals that hunt as a game.

Otherwise... some ants keep other insects as "slaves".

Definitely humans. We're absolute scum, as a species.

And humans are no "more" than any other animal. That's simple egocentricity!

I think of cruelty as a human-based word.

Definitely humans. In some instances, we torture each other as well as other animals for sport.

I like the "you humans" part.
The OP is clearly not part of the problem, or the race...

He's a robot built by and based upon the values of aardvarks, but has been given the appearance and communication capabilities to infiltrate our race and see how we respond in the face of the cold hard truth..

OK, so how about humans first, dolphins second, cats third, and ants fourth?
