Lots of fun with all the regs CA has that will be coming to a state near you soon! Longevity of these engines is huge though. 22,000 hours on some of the older ones which is over a million miles equivalent.
love my pickup although Dodge paint is pretty poor.
TDI guys, stay after those timing belts and watch those lifters too. Lots easier to work on in a forklift;-)

Averaging 80 mi/hr, I get around 40 mpg from SLC to Vegas. Love the torque, too.

Caca de kick- thinking about having the ol truck painted olive drab and dump the clear coat. Going to rebuild front diff over Christmas for some winter fun. Will be nice to work on my own stuff. Gotta fix a switch on the Mesa too so a nice drive to Petaluma is in order.

Gotta fix a switch on the Mesa too so a nice drive to Petaluma is in order. | To preface, I'm mainly a dozer/excavator guy as my background is heavy dirt work, site prep and demolition. But,
Dude, I was in a 349E cat a few days ago on demo, and it was scary. I had no visibility out the back. There is a backup/rear facing camera, but it's just not as good as being able to see out the back. This is gonna be killer on loaders, seeing as particularly track loaders, have a tiny engine compartment. And the E series are TIER IV-I compliant, not the stage II.
Volvo, on the other hand, has its act together. I couldn't tell a visibility change from the C to D series excavators. Komatsu is doing it pretty well too.
