Who the hell ever thought ear buds were a good idea?

Now granted I have very small ears, but I'm just sick of these damn things. Again, weird ears, but they never sit still in my ears; they're constantly falling out and I loose sound quality, and I look like I have a tick, constantly pushing them back into my ears. I like to have my ipod during a work out, and nothing's more annoying than brushing your chord mid-rep and having your buds come flying out of your ears!

I've bought a good old fashioned pair of over the ear headphones, and I'm sitting pretty

Yep, I get the exact same thing as you. They fall out of my ears too, no matter what brand or size.

However, I use $15 skull candy ear-plug style ones that nestle perfectly into your ear canal and block out all other sound. They're perfect, very small, much better sound quality, and noise canceling.

I guess they just aren't for some people. I've got the Sony Fontopia earplug-style buds, and I love them. Definitely prefer earbuds to over-the-ear phones.

Apple's iPhone/iPod ear buds fit my ears like nothing else. They're perfect for me.

try something like this, Doc's Proplugs - Protunes, it might help you find a size that fits, and still use standard earphones as well.

I did (and do).
Just because you have deformed ears doesn't give you the right to complain to the rest of us - the strong, healthy majority with normal ears in which ear buds fit absolutely perfectly and never fall out.

Mine used to fall out all the time too. I got the ones with the flexible rubber outer parts which suction-cup into your ear so they don't fall out, and they provide some noise cancellation effects. They were like $40 a year ago. I tried to find the ones I have on apples website, but they aren't there anymore so I don't know if they pulled them or something. It would suck if they did, I need a new pair.

As a side note, am I the only one that burns through ear buds? I've had a pair blow a speaker, two pairs come unwound near the plug, and one pair that somehow the ear bud got completely ripped off.

Edit: They're like this but the apple version http://store.apple.com/us/product/TV...&p=1&s=priceLH

They're useless.

Unfortunately I'm stuck using some sony ones as my sennheisers are, well, lets just say,in two

These headphones suck. Nothing sounds good through them, NOTHING. Now these are the earbuds with the rubber things.

No type of headphones is perfect for everyone. If they don't fit you, find some that do. Perhaps on the ear or over-the-ear phones are better for you.

I have a pair of Shures that came with nine different sets of covers (different sizes and materials) to cover the 'phones. They fit perfectly and sound great.

I use these

I love them and they're comfy in my ears but you can lose those white pieces, they come with extras though.

so earmuffs work with the ipod? The buds are just something for me to throw away at first site. Alot like the twist ties that come with video game controllers. Why anyone would deal with earbuds still surprizes me. The sound is tiny, tinny, and excessively loud so everyone has to hear them when people are sitting around the listeners that like to drown out the sounds of real life happening in front of them.

I did, and still do.

I use these. I have yet to find a better way to listen to music.

Shure makes nice earbuds. As someone who hates headphones (aside from editing etc), I have owned dozens of pairs of earbuds over the years, andI can tell you Shure makes the best. I will never be buying a different brand.

Cheap, crappy products feel cheap and crappy.
