A few years ago I recall a man in his 70s posted every so often, but he stopped coming a long time ago. I forgot his name, but I'm sure some of the people who've been around the forum for a while know who I am talking about....

That's probably true - there is a vast amount of experience amongst the regular posters on the DB side ! People who were playing with Jazz legends before I was born! I can remember when I first came to TB how surprised I was that here was a forum (unlike most of the net) where the majority of members were older than me!

Do you mean Pkr2? He got increasingly grumpy with every post and got fed up with people saying he should be a supporting member!

But he would always say he was the oldest member on the BG side.

I miss Pkr2. I always thought of him as the bass playing grampa I never had.

That would be me, I think.

EDIT - sorry, I misread the title. I thought it said "Who HAS the oldest active member on TB?"

If he were still alive, he would be 71 in a few days.

I wonder if anybody else here is that old?

Yes - I'm sure there must be other members on the DB side who won't be reading this who have as much experience?

How likely is it, though, that he's not just some kid who thought it would be hilarious to make himself really old. Not saying he is, just suggesting it's been done before...
