Who would win in a fight: Batman or Iron Man?

I've always wanted to see a crossover movie with these two guys, but I also have to wonder who would win in a fight.

I would add more to this thread, but the hordes of hard-core comic book nerds who are angry at me for even suggesting that these two be crossed over is outside my door with pitchforks and torches and needs to be pacified.

Anyone who says Iron Man doesn't understand Batman to begin with.

It ain't about the money, or the gadgets, or the superpowers (case in point, Batman holding his own alongside Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter...), it's about the tactics.

Stark might have the tech (although it's a close call), but Bats has the practical intelligence to win.

Come on boss. You're talking about a guy (Stark) who is a certifiable genius. Do you really think that some one who is basically psychotic (Wayne) to overcome that + tech? In a maze with just a few mines, maybe Batman would have the advantage, but with all their gear, Iron Man destroys the ever loving **** out of Batman.

I said practical intelligence.

Stark may well be an engineering genius, but Batman's intelligence (in regards to his tactical skills as well as his detective skills) are going to be far more useful in a fight.

If this battle were to happen, Stark would have the better toys, Bats would have the ways to render said toys completely useless.

If DC was writing it: Batman, no questions. Somehow he knows everything about Ironman and can deactivate his entire suit like a house security system with a gadget in his bat belt that he prepared earlier.

If Marvel was writing it: Batman.. again, but only because Ironman runs out of power (which was always happening back in the good ol' days).

If anyone with a brain was writing it: Ironman. Simplistically we're talking about a fight between a super rich guy who invented a flying, armored, battle suit that is powered by micro-transistors (which he first built in a prison btw)... versus a super rich guy who invented a pointy eared coif and a plastic boomerang

exactly. Batman was given the power of Invincibility by his DC writers, so he can't be beat.

i can't help but think how much better Batman would have been if it had been a Marvel comic...
