Did you just mess with the poll? Cause you now have 44444444 votes. Which is completely insane.

Let's just say I seized the opportunity to teach a lesson on machtpolitik.

Tell them I was able to fix it because I'm a quantum mechanic.

Ha ha! That's a skill I'm only called upon to exercise very occasionally these days. But I've always said that if I felt I couldn't hack it in the classroom any more, I'd quit my current job.

My first three years teaching were in a really tough school. Many teachers simply refused to set foot in the place, sadly. It was very valuable experience for me as a newbie and has served me well ever since. It still helps me a lot in doing what I do now.

How are you settling in at your current place? Still up in the Frozen North?

Aye. I can see Hadrians Wall from my back garden and can smell those nefarious Scots.

I like to think I earned my stripes in my first 2 schools. Inner city comps. Tough. Made me the OUTSTANDING (c) Ofsted teacher I am today

Good stuff man - it works a little differently for us in HE, but we got a grade 1 for our course last time, too. We'll be getting another visit very shortly, I expect.

You didn't need to pull that. You would've won anyway

*goes back to reading Consciousness Explained, as recommended by bassybill on a thread a long while back*

Seeing they teach different subjects, it's a difficult choice.

But if Maki was a Biology teacher . . .

Either way, hats off to them, and all High School teachers. I certainly couldn't put up with teenagers all day every day.

Hmmm. I'm not so sure. That's why I wasn't going to take any chances.

Anyway, glad to hear you're getting stuck into the Dennett book. That's a tough read, but worth the effort in my opinion. It does have its critics. I've heard it referred to as "Consciousness Explained Away".

As adjunct faculty at a nearby University, I scoff at my name not being present.

Yeah, that's it. I scoff.

That being said, I'd choose all three. Daren, simply because after class we'd go and get ripped. Bill, because he's a wealth of knowledge, and Titus, because I wanna hang with him and talk freakiness!

All three , Maki for seaweed preparations; sushi and "other", and Titus and Bill for a UK/Scot Barley sandwich correspondence course and Jury.

Well, I was coming in here to vote for bassybill, but since he's used is moderator magic to tilt the poll, I will vote for Titus. Except, I already accidentally voted for myself, so pound sand world. Pound sand.

This is a great answer, though since I can only vote for one, I voted Tituscrow. For obvious reasons.
