In November, Iron Chef Mario Batali will be across the street from my neighborhood attending a black tie affair to help raise money for a local university. The evening event to meet and mingle with Mario is $200. My wife and I have decided we want to go, we are both big fans of Mario, and we have a chance to support the local educational system.
Is there anyone on your list you would pay $200 to meet and mingle with?

I've actually met a few famous people and I have to say that it's really no big deal. I mean, it's neat to see someone you recognize from TV or such, but in the end, they're just people after all.
I'd absolutely love to meet Paul McCartney for example, but I wouldn't pay $200 to do so...

I'd pay $200 to meet Duck Dunn, Paul McCartney, Joe Osborn, Larry Taylor (Canned Heat) if it included a bass lesson

You said "Mario Batali will be...attending a black tie affair" and the $200 is to "meet and mingle". |

I tend to agree with most of the replies so far. Strip clubs seem depressing because it's a "service" that imitates a real relationship or friendship. I'd feel the same way for most of the people I'd "want" to meet. For a good cause and a service thrown in, I can see it, but just to get some face time with a personal hero, no.
