Who would you pay $200 to meet?

Sign in to disble this ad
In November, Iron Chef Mario Batali will be across the street from my neighborhood attending a black tie affair to help raise money for a local university. The evening event to meet and mingle with Mario is $200. My wife and I have decided we want to go, we are both big fans of Mario, and we have a chance to support the local educational system.

Is there anyone on your list you would pay $200 to meet and mingle with?

Alex, Geddy, and Neil, but only if the money was for charity.

no one really. I've actually met a few famous people and I have to say that it's really no big deal. I mean, it's neat to see someone you recognize from TV or such, but in the end, they're just people after all.
I'd absolutely love to meet Paul McCartney for example, but I wouldn't pay $200 to do so...

I know my fair share of "famous" people too, but watching an Iron Chef cook, enjoy one of his meals. and to get culinary pointers from him is not an event I want to miss.

+1

I'd pay $200 to meet Duck Dunn, Paul McCartney, Joe Osborn, Larry Taylor (Canned Heat) if it included a bass lesson

That's not the same thing. You said "Mario Batali will be...attending a black tie affair" and the $200 is to "meet and mingle".

If the money's going to the school system, and Mario's cooking the meal - AND I could afford to drop $200 a plate, I'd go.

I pay $200 or more pretty much anytime I meet with my mechanic.

I tend to agree with most of the replies so far. Strip clubs seem depressing because it's a "service" that imitates a real relationship or friendship. I'd feel the same way for most of the people I'd "want" to meet. For a good cause and a service thrown in, I can see it, but just to get some face time with a personal hero, no.

I'd charge Megan Fox $200 to hang out with me and play video games.

No one. If I happen to meet someone during my life that happens to be prolific, then so be it. No one is so important that I would spend that much money just to meet them though.

I'd pay $200 to meet Frida from ABBA! But only if I could guarantee to not be disappointed - I know you should never meet your heroes because they often turn out to be someone you didn't expect.
