By the way, those things never cease to amaze me. They look so alien, so infinitely rad.

Get with the industry standard, people! | The funny thing is that although metric has been taught in UK schools and used for 30+ years, the grand majority of people still use imperial. Including people of my age, which is weird.
Back to fish, yeah, it was pregnant.

I find stupid to go all around the place saying "this is 1/350 of an inch" |

16 ounces = 1pound
Therefore would not 448g = 1lb.?

Originally, volume and weight was still measured out in amounts that were common in imperial - pints, gallons, and whatnot, so we ended up with wacky metric measurements for things like cans of paint, drinks, sacks of flour, etc.
But now (at least in Canada) many things are sold in quantities that are decided up with metric in mind. So paint is purchased by the litre, flour by the kilogram, and so forth. Plus, I'm just used to it now. I know what 500ml looks like.
