Raise your hand if your giging tonight. Me, my vintage SVT, my fender Jazz and the rest of my band will be at the Manette salloon in Bremerton WA.
Anybody else playing this weekend? If so list where. Do we here at Talk Bass actually go out and play bass or do we just sit around and talk about it on the internet??

2 gigs tomorrow, a Jazz/pop gig at a winery in Sonora at 2PM and a Solo Bass show in Modesto.

Sunday, rehearse at 11AM and then a Solo Bass show at the Roos Cafe in Oakland.

I am always more tired on Monday than I was on Friday

Well bummer. I wish I saw this sooner. My wife and I are looking for something to do this evening.

As for me, I just sit around and talk about other things besides bass on the internet. I just bought a bunch of gear, but I think I've played it for a total of an hour in the two months since I bought it all.

I just got back from a dinner jazz gig.
I was laid back. Wedding party was there. Pretty cool.

I just finished a week-long stint of gigging EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. Each night was with a different band, and Thursday I had TWO gigs: One in Boston, the other in Nashua. I'm freakin' BEAT, fellas. I gotta build up my endurance if I ever want to 'retire' at 30 and do this for a living... :-p

Sunday I've got an audition/rehearsal with a big band. Should be a blast. Some of the people in it went to school with my sister [Butler].

Metallicafan-i played for the Relay for Life for each year that we had it while i was in high school plus the year after i graduated.

I have the opening weekend of HAIR at a local avante-garde theatre in town. It's the first of four weekends. It's a little edgier than the last time I did the show; the music is a little faster and we're rocking it out a little more than just sticking with the whole late 60's vibe.

I'm running a modified SX P-bass (I made it a PJ) into my Bass Pod into a Univox UB-250 amp. My guitarist really helped me tweak some of the pod settings to utilize the strengths of the amp and it really sounds killer. My folks came to the show last night, and my dad (retired band director, played in numerous local jazz groups) asked me when I got a tube amp. I took him backstage to look at the setup, and he just looked and said "Wait, that's IT?!"

Just got back from my gig at the nwe music store. It's gonna be a great store. They had tons of GK amps. Lots of basses and guitars. The coolest new thing they had were the new "snap-jack" cables. They sounded great and worked amazingly. Snapped right off without any noise. My friend bought one for his guitar. The only thing I didn't like was that if someone stepped on your cable it would come right off if you pulled. Cool stuff though.

Had a great gig this afternoon, house party in a beautiful place with an awesome garden. Nice place to play.
We rocked, had fun, and sounded good.
First gig in forever on fretless.
Big fun

Did the church service thing tonight. They have four services one on Saturday night, three on Sunday. Played with a great drummer, who has been in the studio with Was not Was, and on the road with Sheryl Crow amongst others. This Church hires some great musicians. Our own Mikebass and Matrok play there two.
