Im hitting the road for DC in a few hours. Screw I-64 and screw I-95. Back roads routes for the win at this time of year. Im expecting my normal 3 hour commute to clock in somewhere around 5 1/2 hours or so this go around.

Anyways, heres some mojo for those of you traveling, I know youre gonna need it

I can walk to my folks' place(my T-Day gorge-fest locale)- not sure that qualifies as traveling.

I'm flying to Denver tomorrow afternoon to spend the weekend with my dad and his stepfamily. I use Midway airport, not the nightmarish O'Hare, but I'll still have to get there earlier than usual.

Wasn't Thanksgiving last weekend? It has been over for a month for us Canadians.

Epic drive was epic.

How I survived DC traffic at rush hour on a Thanksgiving travel day is well beyond me lol.

Yep, I've got about 320 miles to drive tomorrow. Five hours is normal, but it will be dependent on traffic and it's forecast to rain tomorrow. Then back up on Sunday.

Whatever, I'm used to it.

The drive took 7 hours. Traffic was awful. On a good day without traffic I can make it in 4.5 hours. Now back up on Sunday. Yay!

Going to Grandma's house - luckily she lives a relatively rural area, so the 30 minutes it takes to get there should be normal as usual.

I'd always heard that the day before Thanksgiving was the heaviest travel day of the year, but instead I found the airports to be the least crowded I'd seen all year.
