Hopefully jogging will help things a bit

I can behave in ways that would of made me gain weight a few years ago and remain stable. Except when I overeat like a madman (Christmas vacations).

| | Hell on heels | | Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Near Orlando FL | | | I'm just joining the thread, but I've been on the weight loss challenge seriously since August. I dropped 21 lbs between August and October by counting every calorie and adding more walking (about 6 miles a day). Over the holidays, I mostly maintained, but I've dropped 5 lbs since 2 January now that I'm almost back into my regular routine. My long-term goal is so big that I don't like putting it out there, but I'm just a couple pounds away from my second 5% goal and if next week goes as well as this week has, then I'm feeling pretty confident about hitting that.

Starting next week it's a shakes and burners diet.
And running when the weather gets realistic for it

I'm not so sure of the adverse effects of fat burners on high blood pressure either, but considering I "started" being fat since my 20s and haven't really seen any truly productive results by nearly 29 I have drastic measures to take before punishing results really occur.

| | | Allow me to throw my hat in the ring.
I'm 5'11", was always rail thin, and went from 160 to 202 in the last 4 years. I'm 35. Not impressed with myself. A few contributing factors include moving to another province therefore eliminating all of my contacts with whom I played sports, all of my other hobbies including standing still, I sit on my ass throughout the day at work, and I have a sweet tooth.
202 on my frame looks atrocious and though I was a sexy beast before, I'm only mildly sexy now. :P
Though we're having our basement built, once it's done (in about 2 months), I'll have a space to use a stationary bike and/or treadmill. Looking forward to shedding it all off. My energy level is the lowest it's ever been.
Good luck to us all.

| | Well, Ahoy Paloi | | Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Cape Cod, MA | | | Been a week now and I went from 189.6 to 186.0 on my new scale (old scale said I weighed 185 today!- I like the old, beat up scale b/c it provides a lower figure!). So, basically 3.4 lbs lost in a week. Good, not great but I will take it. I've been running, a lot - outside when I can and on a treadmill when I can't. I still had to drink beers at a Patriots playoff party last week and my buddy texted me that I may have a ticket for this Sunday's Ravens game which means crappy, fatty food and overpriced beers. Also, with work and everything I have 2 gigs this weekend on top of everything.
Need to keep up the exercise and drink lots of water in the day, it helps to flush out the body and makes you less hungry for salty snacks.
Thanks for everyone's feedback and good vibes and best of luck to all on the diet track. |

| | Total Hyper-Elite Member Independent Contractor to Bass San Diego | | Join Date: May 2000 Location: Groom Lake, NV | | | I'm down 11 pounds since January 2nd. Not a pound a day, but I've slowed down a bit. I've added a little red meat to make sure I get some amino acids in there. Trying to balance protein, carbs, vegetables and fat and still stay lo-cal. I sauté a bunch of mushrooms, bell peppers onions and garlic with Italian seasoning, and that tastes good on pretty much anything. I haven't had a sugary drink or a piece of candy since the 2nd, either. I'm not using any chemicals or diet products - just eating less food. One side effect is that I feel good about still having my will power. I've put off losing weight for quite a few years.

| | Registered User | | | | | @bassbully Finally watched Forks Over Knives and that was really eye-opening! We're going on 2 months vegetarian and have reduced our dairy quite a bit, but cheese and real butter is a bit of a challenge to give up completely. All oils would be tough to give up too!
The goal this month is to eat more whole foods and significantly reduce any and all processed sugars. Small steps seem to work well. We're having a good time experimenting with new foods and recipes and it makes it more fun having my whole family is on-board.
Weight loss is slow but steady...down about 3lbs - which is great for me as that good-for-nothing scale was stuck for what seemed like an eternity!! |

Lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks without much troubles.
All i did was cut each one of my four meals by a third.
I am now at 6'2 and 174lbs which should even leave me enough leeway to have a big breakfast before weight ins (180lbs). |
