Question Whose death was more moving, Spock or Data ?

Ok Star Trek friends, of these 2 heroes deaths which did you find the most moving ? I think Spock's death in the Wrath of Khan was far more climatic and dramatic then Data's demise.

Spock hands down. Spock IS the spirit of Star Trek.

Easy, Spock, he's the second most recognizable character from Trek

I was more saddened by Spock's death than amused by Data's, so... Spock.

Data died, huh? (Some trekkie I am.)

I got choked when I saw Wrath Of Kahn in the theater. I'm having a hard time imagining one of those TNG movies I missed having as much of an effect.

So... Spock.

Hard to believe that the death of an emotionless character like Spock could stir such deep emotions. God Speed Mr. Spock, God Speed.

Frankly I didn't even know anyone cared at all about Data until I heard a news report about creepy "Spinerfemmes". Aside from them, I don't think anyone ever gave half a rat's fart about Data.

Spock's death was made almost meaningless by his silly resurrection. Therefore, I must say Data, though I missed that particular episode/film.

Would someone provide some background on Data's death?

That was my first reaction as well.

Had to look it up. Didn't see Nemesis. Actually didn't see Insurrection either.

Either way:

Data beams the captain off the enemy Reman ship to safety, using the only emergency transport device he has. Data destroys the ship and in the process sacrifices himself, saving the captain and crew of the Enterprise.

Spock. Does anyone give a damn about Data and / or these horrible (IMO) reincarnations of Star Trek??

I loved TNG. Data was usually my favorite character. But I never saw whichever show he died in. So, Spock.

Spock, hands down. When he died I was in shock in a "you can't do that!" sort of way. With Data I was very "meh" about it.

Wow, NOBODY for Data?

TNG was far and away my favorite series. Never cared much about Spock or anything in the original series. Wasn't in love with any of the movies, but I love TNG characters 100 times more than any from the originals. So Data for me.
