Is it me? I find that the latest Photobucket is horrible, with the small size photos. Why do people still use this to post their bass for sale photos? You can't see any detail of the bass.
Why not use Flickr or Picassa or some other free site that you can do much more with and don't have the annoying ads?
I don't get it. Just a rant, thanks. |

but to answer your question, for the same reason some people still use AIM, and some even still use Netscape dialup (wink)

People post a link to their photobucket page instead of a link to the high res photo itself. |

I use it because it's easy, just click on the IMG link in the pic's pull down menu to copy, then paste it into your post. What could be simpler? I don't get why some post a link to the page when they could just do that.

-Upload photo(s)
-Give title, description, etcetera
-When ready to post, simply *click* on the image link, and it copies it for you. So long as the forum you're posting it on uses the [img] code, you're fine.
Also, I can only upload a certain amount on TB. I find it much easier and less hassel to upload as many photos as I want into Photobucket instead of constantly refiltering my TB uploads. |

Personally, I like Flickr best because of how organized it is and how it seems to retain more detail in pictures when they're uploaded but Photobucket is great for what it does which, for me, is quick n' dirty uploads. Picasa is great too, especially with the uploader you can download. You can get a good size out of whichever.

Copy the image url and put it in -img- -/img- brackets replacing the dashes with actual brackets, of course. Some people use attachements which are ok but really limit you as far as image quality and size go.

Some can do all the cool things, some can't - simple as they might seem to others. It's like any skill. If you do it a lot, it's easy. If not, not so much. If you are selling stuff all the time and posting pics, it's easy. If you sell stuff once a year, you kinda forget how to do some of that stuff. |

The Swiss can understand the convoluted mess that is an army knife, but can't figure out copy and paste. |

| | | | WHy do people still use windows, facebook, twitter, (cringes) Limewire.
Because it's what they know.
I use imageshack for quick things and then my web server for bigger stuff.

Otherwise they stay on there until the user removes them. I have a ton of large pics on there right now and haven't even come close to the storage limit for my account. I dig it. |

I just checked my account and I have pictures there dating back to April 2006, nearly 5 years ago.

I don't get it. Just a rant, thanks. | Really? I've been using Photobucket for quite a while and I've never had an issue. Your issue may be the photographer themselves. They just take horrible pictures! Here's one of mine! And no, that is NOT my rig! That was supplied backline.

I was referring to links that people post of photos of their basses they are selling, just lately seems all the ones I have been looking at on photobucket are these tiny shots, can't see any detail, looks like a thumbnail with ads.
